Health & Safety Manager | Main Contractor | London Listed: 08 Oct 2024 Building & Construction London About the Client: SSA are recruiting on behalf of a medium sized Contractor who are working on main contract, builders works packages and specialist contracting in the London area across the Commercial, Retail & High-End Residential sectors. About the Role: The purpose of this role is to support the Health, Safety and Compliance Director with day-to-day activity as well as the on-going development of the Group Companies’ Health, Safety and Compliance. Working as part of the Health, Safety and Compliance Team. About the Responsibilities: Provide advice on safety matters and applicable legislation to the Companies’ Directors, Managers, Workers, and subcontractors. Assist with the management of H&S, Quality and Environmental Systems, Manuals, Policies & Procedures. Conduct site monitoring visits, audits to ensure compliance with the Companies’ policies and statutory legislation. Liaise with site managers regarding high priority items identified during health and safety audits. Assist site teams with the creation and distribution of CDM documentation, including Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans, Method Statements and Risk Assessments. Organise H&S skills & training for Staff, Engineers & Sub-Contractors. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all business-related activity. Maintain a supportive & flexible approach in response to our customers’ & the companies’ needs. Interact positively & courteously with other staff, departments & management. Support and deputise for the Group Health, Safety and Compliance Director as required. Assist with the development of Construction Phase Plans, Policies, Procedures, and other documentation. Maintain accident/incident information, inform the Health, Safety and Compliance Director of serious issues or patterns, and process RIDDOR reportable incidents. Run checklist reports, chase missing checklists, and maintain active logs of missing checklists. Report to the Group Health, Safety and Compliance Director.
