The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Azure Data Platform Manager to lead the development, delivery, and optimisation of enterprise-scale Azure data solutions across a multi-market environment. This role will be responsible for driving data strategy, delivering modern cloud-based data platforms, and enabling business stakeholders to make informed, data-driven decisions. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management and project delivery capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Azure Data Platform strategy, roadmap, and ongoing development.
- Design and deliver scalable Azure-based data solutions supporting business intelligence and analytics.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Drive data platform enhancements across Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and related services.
- Ensure data platforms are secure, reliable, cost-effective, and aligned with governance standards.
- Manage the delivery of data integration, transformation, and reporting solutions.
- Oversee platform performance, monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement activities.
- Lead data-related projects, system rollouts, migrations, and platform upgrades.
- Manage third-party vendors and external delivery partners.
- Promote best practices across data architecture, DevOps, and CI/CD processes.
- Work closely with Architecture, Security, and Data teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and technology investment planning.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing Azure Data Platforms within a complex enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, and Azure Synapse.
- Experience with Azure PaaS services, monitoring, and platform optimisation.
- CI/CD and Azure DevOps experience.
- Strong SQL skills with experience using Python and/or PySpark.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and security frameworks.
- Experience delivering data projects and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Microsoft Azure certifications.
- Experience working within FMCG, Retail, or multinational organisations.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, or advanced analytics solutions.
