SENIOR ENGINEER (MEP)

ROLE OVERVIEW
You will join a brand new team as a Senior Engineer, reporting directly to the MEP Director. This is a pivotal role where you will shape best practice, set technical standards and ensure the robust design, delivery and maintenance of building services across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will combine deep MEP engineering expertise with pragmatic problem solving, guiding colleagues and partners to deliver safe, compliant and sustainable MEP solutions. Working across both residential and commercial environments, you will be central to SRVO's mission to transform the property landscape with technically sound, efficient and future-ready systems.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Most days you will lead workstreams from concept through delivery: scoping, surveying, designing, reviewing, and assuring quality against standards and regulations. You will coordinate closely with electrical and public health disciplines, contractors and client stakeholders, while mentoring junior engineers and embedding consistent processes in a growing team.

You deliver solutions that are compliant, maintainable and energy efficient, with clear rationale and robust calculations.
You manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting deadlines and budgets without compromising technical quality or safety.
You produce high-quality reports, specifications and drawings that contractors and clients can act on with confidence.
You build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners, ensuring smooth coordination and issue resolution.
You elevate team capability by coaching colleagues, implementing templates and workflows, and promoting continuous improvement.
You identify performance risks early and implement practical mitigation plans that keep programmes on track.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME
Leading surveys, assessments and feasibility studies across occupied and unoccupied buildings.
Developing designs, specifications and schedules, and reviewing contractor designs and submittals.
Preparing technical reports, costed options and lifecycle recommendations for client decision-making.
Coordinating with electrical and public health engineers to produce integrated MEP solutions. -
Overseeing site works, witnessing testing and commissioning, and closing out snagging with clear documentation.
Supporting bid responses, scopes of service and programme planning for new and existing clients.

EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS
Delivering mechanical design and technical assurance within multi-disciplinary MEP projects.
Working across residential and commercial buildings, including refurbishment and occupied premises.
Applying building regulations, standards and guidance (e.g., Part L, Part F, SFG20, CIBSE guides).
Leading site inspections, surveys, commissioning activities and contractor coordination.
Using design and analysis tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, heave loss calculations, duct sizing, HVAC selection).
