Role Overview
This role is for an MRICS qualified Chartered Surveyor ready to operate with senior authority within a growing consultancy.
You will lead complex residential and commercial instructions, acting as a trusted adviser while managing technically demanding projects from inception to completion.
You will combine professional judgement, commercial awareness and delivery ownership across multiple live projects.
Operating across building pathology, major works, compliance led reporting and strategic advisory work, you will contribute directly to client relationships and regional growth, progressing toward Associate level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple live projects while maintaining technical and commercial control.
- Manage your workload independently, leading projects and deploying junior colleagues where appropriate.
- Act as Project Manager and Contract Administrator on refurbishment and major works projects typically ranging from £50k to £3m+.
- Prepare specifications, tender documentation and administer JCT contracts.
- Provide advice on complex building defects and construction issues.
- Prepare Planned Preventative Maintenance reports and lifecycle cost advice.
- Undertake reinstatement cost assessments and pre-acquisition surveys.
- Complete Building Height Surveys and Building Safety Act related reporting.
- Prepare Schedules of Dilapidations and negotiate claims.
- Act as Principal Designer including PCI preparation and oversight of H&S documentation.
- Monitor development works on behalf of landlords, managing agents and funders.
- Mentor junior surveyors and APC candidates.
- Operate in a hybrid way, balancing home working, site inspections and office collaboration.

- Candidate Profile
- MRICS qualified with 2+ years PQE.
- Strong technical knowledge across construction technology and building pathology.
- Experience administering projects under JCT contracts.
- Confident operating autonomously in a hybrid environment.
- Motivated by progression toward Associate level.
- Full clean UK driving licence and capability to travel as required.
- Experience across residential and mixed-use portfolios (helps).
- Experience acting as Principal Designer under CDM Regulations (helps).
- Experience delivering Building Safety Act surveys and reporting (helps).
- Strong report writing and client communication skills.
- Experience mentoring junior surveyors or APC candidates.
- Auto CAD capability is advantageous.
