Product Compliance Coordinator in Newport, Wales

The Product Compliance Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking product compliance and verification testing activities to ensure products meet regulatory, industry, customer, and company requirements. The role acts as the central point of contact between engineering teams, external test laboratories, certification bodies, quality departments, and project stakeholders. The Product Compliance Coordinator ensures that compliance testing is completed on schedule, documentation is maintained, and certification activities are delivered efficiently.

For marine electronic products, including AIS transceivers, the role involves organising regulatory approvals, type approval testing, environmental qualification, EMC testing, and ongoing compliance maintenance. The role is primarily based in our Bristol office, but you must be willing to travel to our offices in Midsomer Norton until Qtr2 2027, with good flexibility for hybrid working.

Responsibilities - Product Compliance Coordinator - not exhaustive:

• Coordinate product certification and compliance activities from development through to product release within project timelines.
• Prepare and maintain compliance schedules and certification plans.
• Monitor progress of regulatory testing activities.
• Liaise with certification bodies, notified bodies, and test laboratories.
• Schedule laboratory testing and product evaluations.
• Arrange quotations for testing activities, obtain best pricing, and raise purchase orders.
• Coordinate EMC, environmental, RF, safety, and performance testing.
• Prepare test samples, supporting equipment, and documentation; track test progress and communicate status updates to stakeholders.
• Maintain records of test results and any corrective actions.
• Travel to customers, suppliers, and test sites to support product testing and certification activities.
• Organise on-site support during EMC, environmental, RF, integration, and acceptance testing.
• Report back on test results, observations, and non-conformities, ensuring accurate reporting and traceability.
• Maintain compliance and certification records for all SRT products.
• Organise and manage test reports, certificates, declarations of conformity, technical files, compliance matrices, risk assessments, etc.
• Ensure documentation is controlled and stored in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitor regulatory changes affecting products and target markets.
• Prepare certification submissions and maintain certification registers and renewal schedules.
• Attend project review meetings and provide compliance status updates.
• Track actions resulting from certification and test activities and escalate risks that could impact project delivery or certification approval.

Requirements - Product Compliance Coordinator - not exhaustive:

• Essential: HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Electronics, Scientific Discipline, or similar qualification in Compliance, Project Management, or Quality Systems.
• Knowledge of consumer or marine electronics, or radio communication systems.
• Experience coordinating testing activities or certification programmes.
• Experience gaining certifications for consumer electronics including UKCA, RED, and FCC.
