We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Project Engineer to provide in-person and remote support to our field installation teams and subcontractors. Your role will be to create, review and check electrical installation schematics and plans for a wide variety of equipment ranging from maritime surveillance radar to gensets or CCTV security and building monitoring systems, along with hands-on electrical installation configurations.

Please note: This role requires global travel for projects, including regions such as the Middle East, Far East, South East Asia, and Africa, with an agreed rotation period of up to 12 weeks in-country and 2 weeks home.

Responsibilities (not exhaustive):

  • Review and approve proposed electrical installation configurations for various equipment relying on electrical utility and power systems.
  • Physically oversee and/or undertake installations with a hands-on approach.
  • Train and coach field engineering teams to ensure high quality and consistent workmanship.
  • Help build and maintain standard work procedures and standards.
  • Review equipment installations, identify issues, and propose/rectify remedial work.
  • Understand equipment installation and configuration requirements to enable correct commissioning.
  • Ensure all installations comply with technical standards, safety protocols, and project specifications.
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of all integrated systems.
  • Document installation procedures and generate detailed reports for project stakeholders.
  • Help devise and define long-term maintenance programs to ensure systems and equipment operate optimally and reliably.

Requirements:

  • ESSENTIAL - Qualification: Time served apprenticeship or QBE with a minimum 17th Edition.
  • Proven experience in electrical installations, such as integrated CCTV and building monitoring systems, building power systems, and/or communication towers.
  • Strong understanding of electrical standards, safety regulations, and networking fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, server rack layouts, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with mobile platforms (e.g., onboard vessels, mobile command units, aerospace).
  • Appreciation of cultural differences in overseas territories and ability to communicate well with overseas colleagues.
