We are seeking an experienced Installation Support Engineer. This is a truly progressive role where you can make a huge impact on the future growth of the ®em-trak brand. The role is primarily office‑based support, with international travel to support customers, sometimes on short notice.
The Installation Support Engineer is responsible for providing practical marine electronics installation expertise across both ®em-trak products and systems transceiver deployments globally. The role acts as the internal authority on real‑world transceiver installation best practice, supporting systems projects, assisting dealers and end users with more complex installation requirements, and helping develop robust installation standards, guidance and training materials to ensure reliable long‑term performance in both leisure and commercial marine environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain installation standards and best practices for transceiver deployments across both ®em-trak products and systems projects.
- Produce clear installation guidance, visual reference materials and technical documentation to support our customers.
- Deliver installation guidance and technical training to our partners where required.
- Support installation governance, evidence capture and deployment sign‑off processes.
- Review and validate installation quality, identifying risks, recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Provide remote and on‑site deployment support including FAT/SAT activities where required.
- Assist with troubleshooting installation, RF, GNSS, power and connectivity‑related issues.
- Feed field observations, recurring issues and lessons learned back into Engineering and Product teams.
Requirements
- Strong marine electronics installation experience.
- Marine electronics or electrical qualifications such as AMEI or BMET are beneficial, but strong practical field experience is equally important.
- Practical understanding of AIS, GNSS, VHF and marine RF systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault‑finding ability.
- Ability to work directly with customers, installers and project teams.
