SRT Marine Systems plc (SRT) are a market‑leading company in international marine surveillance technology and systems, headquartered in the UK with a global customer base. We develop next‑generation maritime domain awareness technologies that significantly enhance security, safety, environmental protection and sustainability. Our customers range from the largest national coast guards to individual vessel owners worldwide.
The Regional Projects Director will be permanently based in Nairobi, Kenya and will manage SRT’s in‑country teams. The role is hands‑on, overseeing the planning, execution and delivery of complex multi‑site projects across East Africa, including data centres, control rooms, communication towers and commercial buildings, as well as the installation of sensitive electrical and communication systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring quality delivery within cost and time parameters.
- Coordinating contractors and internal resources.
- Maintaining accurate project plans and budgets.
- Conducting site visits and overseeing construction and installation work.
- Arranging customer training and providing status updates to senior management.
Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
- Work directly with end customers and internal partners to manage and drive the project delivery plan.
- Ensure that internal partners work in strict accordance with SRT systems delivery methods.
- Adopt a holistic project implementation approach to ensure complete end customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Delivery Department to maintain and manage an accurate project plan and budget.
- Make frequent visits to customer countries and sites to review and manage activities.
- Manage and oversee construction, installation and configuration work done by internal partners and third parties.
- Arrange training for customers and internal partners.
- Provide clear and concise updates to SRT management on status, progress and potential risks and issues.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Exceptionally experienced in a hands‑on approach to projects and programme management.
- A civil engineering and/or IT networking background and/or qualification – degree.
- Capability to understand system drawings down to installation design drawings.
- Adept at diplomatically influencing without authority.
- Willingness to travel globally for extended periods.
