SRS Recruitment is one of the UK’s leading Construction Production Recruiters. Our client is a leading Importer & Distributor of Timber, Plywood and Panel Products, and due to expansion and internal promotion, they are seeking a Warehouse Manager.
Reporting to: Operations Manager
As Warehouse Manager, your role will be to oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensure safe storage and handling of goods at all times, and ensure all goods are accurately and efficiently dispatched. You would ensure all warehouse operations run smoothly, safely, and in compliance with company policies. As Warehouse Manager, you would be responsible for leading your team, ensuring timber is stored and transported correctly to meet customer and business demands and delivery schedules.
Key Responsibilities of Warehouse Manager:- Staff Supervision & Development
- Plan, organise, and manage all daily warehouse operations.
- Goods in and inventory control
- Ensure efficient and safe workflow
- Manage warehouse recruitment, staff inductions and training
- Oversee the inspection of quality control
- Coordinate transport team to meet deadlines
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar role
- Experience within the Timber / Builders Merchant sector
- Strong experience in warehouse procedures, inventory control and logistics
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety (ISOH)
- Effective communication skills
- Customer-focused with sound commercial skills
- Good IT skills & PC literate and experience with Microsoft Outlook
Location/Area: Hertfordshire
