PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A FIXED AND FIELD BASED ROLE FROM MY CLIENTS SOUTHWEST LONDON OFFICE. THEREFORE THE IDEAL/SUITABLE CANDIDATE MUST BE BASED WITHIN A REASONABLE COMMUTE (30-45 MIN MAX) TO MY CLIENTS SOUTHWEST LONDON (SW18) OFFICES AND BE PREPARED TO TRAVEL FURTHER AFIELD WHEN REQUIRED.

The Role

As a Technical Sales Engineer, you\'ll be fully responsible for generating your own sales pipeline from initial quoting and follow-ups on assigned leads and live project opportunities, to proactive prospecting within targeted sectors and specific end-user accounts. Your success will hinge on your ability to strategically plan, forecast, and execute sales activities that drive results. You\'ll play a key role in shaping the growth of the business, focusing on four critical areas:

  1. Driving sales of Safe Access and Fall Protection products and services
  2. Expanding relationships with Contractors, Contractors, Installers and End users
  3. Building and maintaining repeat customer business
  4. Protecting and improving profit margins

The role combines field-based activities including site visits, customer surveys, and face-to-face meetings with office-based sales work and regular technical training to keep you at the forefront of industry standards and product knowledge. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a dynamic territory, influence business growth, and develop long-term relationships that position you as a trusted advisor in the safety and access solutions market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategically targeting key industrial sectors and applying proven company techniques to engage new, existing, and dormant customers.
  • Achieving and exceeding personal sales targets, aligned with overall business objectives.
  • Daily reporting of sales activity, quotations issued, and pipeline status.
  • Taking full ownership of key accounts and contracts across the group, with a strong emphasis on new business development.
  • Generating enquiries through proactive sales calls and the effective use of lead generation and CRM systems.
  • Producing accurate and competitive quotations based on customer enquiries and relevant design standards.
  • Following up on all quotations, logging client feedback, and updating the project tracking database accordingly.
  • Participating in monthly performance review meetings, providing feedback to improve conversion rates and overall sales performance.
  • Attending site visits as needed to carry out surveys and gather information for quotation purposes.
  • Driving the development of major accounts, including contractors, installers and end users, to build long-term strategic relationships.
  • Undertaking additional duties within the Sales Development function as requested by the General Manager or Sales Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required - ESSENTIAL

  • Ability to interpret technical information and drawings, with confidence in understanding specifications and industry standards.
  • Solution selling experience within the Construction sector specifically envelope products such as roofing, facades, safe access etc is highly desirable especially within technical or safety-focused environments.
  • A practical, hands-on approach combined with a growth mindset, eager to learn and continuously improve.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence.
  • A reliable team player, with the self-motivation and discipline to work independently when required.
  • Willingness to travel to my clients Southwest London offices and further afield for client meetings, site surveys, and project reviews.

Salary & Benefits
