Overview
We are looking for a commercially savvy and technically experienced National Specifications Manager to lead the introduction of a new rainscreen product line for a recognised UK manufacturer. This role will manage the full specification cycle—building relationships with architects, main contractors, and subcontractors, influencing design decisions, and ensuring the successful adoption of our facade systems. The ideal candidate understands the UK route-to-market for rainscreen cladding, aluminium fascias, fixings, and subframe solutions, and can combine technical knowledge with commercial insight to drive national growth. If you are someone who thrives on bringing new products to market and shaping specifications from concept to completion, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a national specification strategy for rainscreen facades, cladding boards, aluminium fascias, subframes, and related facade products.
- Drive product adoption by engaging and influencing architects, design practices, main contractors, specialist contractors, installers, and facade consultants.
- Manage the full project lifecycle from initial specification through tendering, approval, contractor engagement, value engineering, and final order conversion.
- Build strong relationships across the standard facade route-to-market, ensuring brand visibility and pull-through at all project stages.
- Position and promote a new product line in a competitive market, establishing the brand as a trusted technical solution.
- Provide technical guidance and support, presenting product solutions that meet performance, compliance, fire, and sustainability requirements.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, regulatory shifts, and emerging opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including Technical, Marketing, R&D, Operations, and Sales to ensure consistent messaging and a unified go-to-market plan.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven track record in rainscreen, facade, cladding, or external envelope specification sales at a regional or national level.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to strategically position new products within the market.
- Established relationships with architects, main contractors, facade contractors, and construction specifiers.
- Thorough understanding of the full project and specification cycle from concept to final installation.
- Technical competence in facade systems, fixing solutions, relevant standards, and building regulations.
- Experience working with design teams and the ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings.
- Understanding of CAD/BIM workflows and how digital models support specification and design decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Motivated, proactive, and comfortable operating autonomously in a national role.
What the Company Offers
- Opportunity to spearhead the launch of a major new rainscreen product line.
- Join a respected UK manufacturer with strong market credibility and long-term investment in facade innovation.
- Competitive salary, bonus structure, company car/allowance, and full benefits package.
- Professional development opportunities and long-term career progression.
