SRS Recruitment is one of the UK’s leading Construction Product Recruiters. Our client is a leading Importer & Distributor of Timber, Plywood and Panel Products and due to expansion, they are seeking an OPERATIONS MANAGER. Reporting to: DEPOT DIRECTOR.
As OPERATIONS MANAGER, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing logistics, warehouse operations, inventory, transport and team management to ensure timely and effective delivery of products to customers. A key part of the role includes managing health and safety systems and procedures to create a safe and productive work environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities of OPERATIONS MANAGER:
- Staff Supervision & Development, lead, manage, and mentor all operational teams.
- Forecast operational needs, including staffing, equipment and resource allocation to meet business demand.
- Implement and develop operational strategies, processes, policies and systems to improve efficiency, productivity and quality across all business functions.
- Ensure efficient and safe workflow, and identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to streamline operations.
- Continuously monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of operations.
- Manage key operational projects from inception to completion.
- All Risk Management, identify operational risks and develop strategies to minimize disruptions.
Skills & Experience Required – OPERATIONS MANAGER:
- Proven experience in Operations Management.
- Exceptional organisational and time management abilities.
- Strong experience in warehouse procedures, inventory control and logistics.
- Solid understanding of Health & Safety (ISOH).
- Effective communication skills.
- Customer-focused with sound commercial skills.
- Good IT skills & PC literate and experience with Microsoft Outlook.
