The Role

As NATIONAL FALL PROTECTION SPECIALIST, you will be responsible for leading and developing our Client’s range of Products and Solutions as they introduce them to the UK. The role will be home-based and will require extensive travel throughout the United Kingdom.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • New, Existing Customer and End User Development & Specification Conversion
    • Obtain New Customers that specialise in this market segment.
    • Conduct joint customer visits with Regional Sales Managers, National Account Managers and distribution partners.
    • Drive specification and end-user conversion opportunities across the UK market.
    • Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations and working-at-height safety training to end users, distributors and channel partners.
    • Support customers in selecting compliant fall protection solutions aligned with UK legislation and best practice.
    • Promote adoption of our Client’s fall protection systems across key sectors including construction, infrastructure, utilities, rail, telecommunications, industrial maintenance and renewable energy.
  • Customer Development & Business Growth
    • Identify, prospect and secure new business opportunities within the UK fall protection market.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with: PPE distributors, Safety specialists, National and regional merchants, Hire companies, Facilities management providers, Contractors and end users.
    • Develop account growth plans alongside the sales team to increase market share and revenue.
    • Act as the technical expert for customers requiring guidance on fall protection products, standards and applications.
  • Sales Strategy & Market Development
    • Develop and execute territory growth plans aligned with UK sales objectives.
    • Analyse market trends, competitor activity and emerging industry requirements.
    • Identify opportunities within key UK sectors including: Construction, Utilities, Telecoms, Rail, Energy, Industrial Manufacturing, Facilities Management.
    • Deliver accurate forecasts, sales pipeline reports and market intelligence.
    • Support the launch of new products and solutions into the UK market.
  • Technical Support & Training
    • Provide technical product support to sales teams and customers.
    • Deliver accredited or non-accredited working-at-height and fall protection training where appropriate.
    • Assist with site surveys, risk assessments and product recommendations.
    • Support customers in understanding compliance requirements under: Work at Height Regulations 2005, PPE at Work Regulations, BS EN Standards relating to fall protection, HSE guidance and best practice.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with product management and engineering teams to provide customer feedback and market insight.
    • Support marketing activities including exhibitions, trade shows, product launches and customer events.
    • Collaborate with customer service and operations teams to ensure excellent customer experience and project delivery.

Person Specification

  • Essential Requirements
    • Technical qualification or technical background with the ability to interpret specifications, drawings and product requirements.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience within the UK fall protection, PPE, height safety or safety products sector.
    • Strong knowledge of: Fall arrest systems, Restraint systems, Anchor devices, Rescue equipment, Working-at-height best practice, Understanding of UK legislation, HSE requirements and relevant BS EN standards.
    • Experience delivering product training and technical presentations.
    • Existing relationships with: PPE distributors, Safety specialists, Construction contractors, Utilities contractors, Telecommunications providers, Industrial end users.
    • Demonstrable business development and account management skills.
    • Self-motivated, resilient and highly driven with a strong commercial mindset.
    • Full UK driving licence.
    • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and occasionally within Europe.
  • Desirable Requirements
    • IPAF, PASMA, IRATA or other relevant safety qualifications.
    • Train-the-Trainer certification.
    • Experience within utilities, telecoms, rail or renewable energy sectors.
    • Knowledge of specification sales and project-led business development.
    • Ability to work within a CRM-based sales environment.
