Overview
Our client is seeking a multi-faceted Façade Engineer with a strong structural background who can take ownership of projects from concept to delivery. This role requires someone who is not only structurally competent but also commercially and client-focused, capable of representing our client\’s business confidently in meetings and on-site. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently, managing priorities and driving projects forward with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce engineering analysis and structural engineering calculations on projects.
- Deliver and review structural and façade design calculations.
- Create programs and spreadsheets for automated calculation.
- Create standard calculations within TEDDS.
- Lead and project manage façade engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Attend and chair meetings with clients, architects, contractors, and design teams.
- Review, adapt, and coordinate drawings and technical documentation.
- Conduct site visits to assess installation quality and resolve technical challenges.
- Contribute to business development, identifying opportunities and supporting proposal preparation.
- Collaborate across disciplines to ensure design integration and performance compliance.
Ideal Candidate
- Experienced in façade engineering with a solid understanding of structural principles.
- Comfortable taking the lead role in client and internal meetings.
- Able to balance technical, managerial, and commercial responsibilities.
- Demonstrates initiative, flexibility, and a proactive approach to project challenges.
- Ability to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- The role requires good practical and technical structural engineering knowledge and experience.
- A master\’s degree (MSc) in a relevant Engineering field is essential.
- A relevant Chartership would be an advantage (IStructE, CIBSE, ICE).
- The candidate should also have a good knowledge of façade materials, products, manufacturing methods, and construction methods.
