We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client in Barnsley for experienced Class 1 Driver positions, with shifts available on either days or afternoons. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable Class 1 Driver looking for ongoing Monday to Friday work, with the potential to secure a permanent role.

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be working with boxed trailers fitted with a tail lift and delivering to retail stores. This is a manual handling role, where you will be required to use a manual pump truck to move pallets from the trailer into stores via the tail lift. Around 99% of deliveries are light plastic goods.

Shift patterns:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Days starting from 6:00am
  • Afternoons starting from 2:00pm

To be considered for this Class 1 Driver role, you must:

  • Have held your Class 1 licence for a minimum of 2 years
  • Have no more than 6 penalty points
  • Have no active DD, DG or IN endorsement codes (due to client insurance requirements)
  • Hold a valid and in-date CPC card
  • Hold a valid and in-date digital tachograph card

This Class 1 Driver role is initially temporary, however there is a genuine opportunity for permanent employment, as the client is actively recruiting for full-time drivers.

Pay rates:

  • Days £16.00 per hour (£17.97 per hour including holiday pay)
  • Afternoons £17.50 per hour (£19.61 per hour including holiday pay)
