Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- The primary duty of the Driver, known as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator certification), is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites.
- Drivers operate within a maximum of a 200-mile radius from their home branch, with all deliveries originating and ending at the branch, and no overnight stays required.
- Home every night.
- Earn a Safety Bonus.
- Safely operate a commercial vehicle following all DOT regulations.
- Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to local, state, and federal laws.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Verify and confirm loaded inventory against purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, and confirm addresses before departure.
- Conduct a job site inspection, documenting existing damages and obstacles such as power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
- Take pictures of all delivered building products as per company policy.
Requirements
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus.
- Safe driving record with no recent hit & run, DWI, or DUI convictions within the last three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed.
- Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous.
- Experience in distribution is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
- Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials.
- Pass a drug test and possess a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the past 12 months.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. and pass an E-Verify check.
- All CDL drivers in the US must register with FMCSA as of January 6, 2020. Our background check process includes verification of registration.
