Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, known as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator certification), is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum of a 200-mile radius from their home branch, with all deliveries originating and ending at the branch, and no overnight stays required.

  • Safely operate a commercial vehicle following all DOT regulations
  • Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Verify and confirm loaded inventory against purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, and confirm addresses before departure
  • Conduct a job site inspection, documenting existing damages and obstacles such as power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
  • Take pictures of all delivered building products as per company policy

Requirements

  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver\’s License (CDL)
  • Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus
  • Safe driving record with no recent hit & run, DWI, or DUI convictions within the last three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed
  • Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
  • Experience in distribution is a plus
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials
  • Pass a drug test and possess a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the past 12 months
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. and pass an E-Verify check
