Privately owned developer in Welwyn Garden City looking for a Finance Manager (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with a view to the position becoming permanent.
Reporting to the Finance Director key duties will include:
- Monthly input into and maintenance of financial models (primarily in Excel).
- Land acquisition appraisals – reviewing the profitability of potential site acquisitions.
- Site profitability appraisals – monitoring the profitability of sites in development.
- Participation in core meetings – Representing Finance in design team meetings.
- Preparation of financial reporting for Core site meetings and monthly Board programme meetings.
- Interaction with, and challenge of, other functions – Challenge information received from other departments where appropriate.
- Assist operational departments with financial reporting.
- Communication of Finance information to non-finance users – Help non-finance users to understand what information they need to give us, why and how to do it effectively.
- Ad hoc report-writing and minute-taking - Attendance at core meetings to record, via professionally written minutes, actions and key information.
Experience Required:
- Fully qualified accountant with 3+ years’ experience working in industry.
- Experience of working in the construction industry preferred.
- Strong communicator and team player.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to challenge the ‘status quo.’
