We are seeking a Senior Manager for our client to take ownership of the UK & European tax function, supporting multiple subsidiaries across corporate income tax, indirect tax, and M&A tax planning. This is a newly created role due to rapid expansion and offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, finance, and legal teams while driving strategic tax initiatives across the region. Key Responsibilities:

Tax Strategy & Planning

  • Support M&A tax due diligence and pre-acquisition tax planning for UK and European acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with the finance and legal teams to optimize tax structures and ensure compliance with international tax regulations.
  • Assist with repatriating cash across entities in a tax-efficient manner while ensuring compliance with withholding tax requirements.
  • Manage and optimize transfer pricing policies, ensuring documentation and payments align with regulatory requirements.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

  • Oversee corporate income tax compliance for UK subsidiaries, preparing, reviewing, and signing tax returns.
  • Manage tax compliance across European subsidiaries, including Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, and other jurisdictions.
  • Calculate current and deferred income taxes under local GAAP and US GAAP reporting requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate VAT and indirect tax filings for UK and European entities.

Stakeholder & Tax Authority Management

  • Liaise with HMRC and other European tax authorities to manage audits, inquiries, and regulatory obligations.
  • Work closely with external tax advisors to navigate complex international tax matters.
  • Act as a key business partner to internal stakeholders, providing tax insights and recommendations.

What we’re looking for

Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified or an equivalent qualification.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of UK corporate tax experience, including tax accounting and compliance.
  • International Tax Exposure: Experience managing corporate and indirect taxes across multiple European jurisdictions (e.g., Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Finland).
  • M&A & Tax Planning: Strong knowledge of tax due diligence, cross-border tax issues, and structuring acquisitions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to collaborate with finance, legal, and external tax authorities.
  • Analytical & Communication Skills: Ability to interpret complex tax regulations and translate them into actionable insights.
