Overview

Senior Financial Accountant (IFRS 16 / Balance Sheet Recs) position within a UK headquartered business in transport/logistics. Based at the London head office finance team. Requires current/recent IFRS 16 experience, balance sheet reconciliations and forecasting experience.

The candidate should be a qualified accountant with industry experience (not from a direct practice background at this time).

Responsibilities

  • Statutory Reporting: Responsible for managing the preparation of the Statutory Accounts, the Annual Audited Accounts Reconciliation, the IFRS16 reporting submissions, liaising with external tax advisers on VAT, PSA and Corp Tax, and ensuring group Statutory Accounts are prepared in accordance with the relevant accounting standards.
  • Operational Reporting: Responsible for quarterly forecast of balance sheet and cashflow; reviewing the periodic cashflow forecast.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Preparation and review of the assigned balance sheet reconciliations; monthly/periodic review of balance sheet control accounts, feedback to preparers and follow up on action points.
  • External Audit: Lead as main point of contact for the External Audit; manage the External Audit process including preparation for and monitoring of delivery to deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Fully Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CA) with PQE in a similar role, preferably from a heavier industry (asset-based industry) background.
  • Sound financial accounting experience.
  • A self-starter with finance experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Excel; SAP/SAP BI/SAP BPC is an advantage.

Budget: circa £60,000 – £65,000 plus benefits.
