About the Company:
A publicly listed company operating under both IFRS and FRS 102 reporting frameworks. A leader in their industry, they manufacture across the UK forming an important part of the UK food chain.
Role Overview:
The Senior Financial Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in line with regulatory and statutory requirements. This position is compliance-focused, supporting monthly close processes, preparation of financial statements, and coordination of internal and external audits. However, it is their desire to hire someone who is interested in developing within the business and providing more commercial and strategic input as their career develops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Reporting: Prepare and review monthly financial reports under IFRS and FRS 102. Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger reconciliations.
- Audit Coordination: Act as the primary liaison for external auditors during year-end and interim audits. Manage internal audit requests and ensure timely delivery of documentation.
- Financial Statements: Draft annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and FRS 102. Support UK consolidation processes and disclosures for group reporting.
- Compliance & Controls: Maintain adherence to internal control frameworks and regulatory requirements. Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen business processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
- Experience: Significant experience working in an audit environment, ideally as part of a top 20 firm. Exposure to project management and leading teams. Strong knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102 reporting standards.
- Skills: Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of SAP and HFM ERP systems (Desirable).
