Temp-to-Perm Fund Controller | Growing Alternative Investments Firm | London
The opportunity
A fast-growing mid-market alternative investments manager needs a Fund Controller to take ownership of fund reporting and controls as the platform scales. The role starts as a temporary contract and is intended to convert to permanent for the right person.
The role
- Own quarterly and annual fund reporting and financial statements across multiple funds, feeders and SPVs
- Run NAV, drawdown and distribution processes, and review waterfall and carried interest calculations
- Oversee complex investment accounting, including income accruals, PIK, OID and fee amortisation, and fair value of illiquid investments
- Manage fund-level financing: subscription and leverage facilities, covenant and borrowing base reporting, and drawdown and repayment mechanics
- Handle multi-currency exposures and work with the team on FX hedging
- Manage the fund administrator day to day: review their work, hold them to deadlines and race issues
- Lead audit and tax compliance with external auditors and advisers
- Prepare investor reporting and LPAC materials
- Support new fund launches, entity set-up and investor onboarding
- Improve processes and controls as the business grows
The person
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Fund finance experience in alternatives, with a strong technical grounding in fund accounting and partnership accounts
- Available to start at short notice
- Experience of income-driven strategies, with confident accruals, effective interest and valuation work
- Experience managing an outsourced administrator and working to audit timelines
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with fund and reporting systems
