Borehamwood (Hybrid 4 days in the office)
Exciting Financial Accountant role in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire for a highly successful and privately owned business. This role will be ideally suited to someone ACA, CIMA or ACCA Qualified looking to take the next step in their career and will have the pathway to lead onto a Financial Controller position.
Responsibilities
- Complete and review the monthly management accounts for two of the larger contracting businesses within the wider Group
- Liaising with management teams to assess the current and future performance of contracts
- Monthly P&L reviews (including detailed gross profit, wages, contract revenue/cost and overhead analysis) and responsible for the collation, review and challenge of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Performing bank reconciliations on a regular basis
- Help lead the monthly financial close process
- Development of monthly management packs and internal KPI’s and MI
- Preparation of monthly VAT returns and responsible for and dealing with any HMRC correspondence
- Production of year-end audit pack and resolving any audit queries
- Production of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts. Helping with additional budgetary tasks
- Ad-hoc tasks/projects
- Fully qualified/finalist level accountant with 3+ years’ experience working in industry or practice
- Strong communicator and team player
- Experience of Power BI or similar
- Ability to challenge the \’status quo’
- Excellent numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
- To become a recognised user within finance of the COINS accounting system – a successful candidate must be able to get to grips with the COINS accounting system quickly
- A self-starter who is able to manage and prioritise deadlines as well as manage expectations upwards
