About the Company: Our client is a multinational, specialist insurance broker who focuses on large and complex risk.

About the Role: Working in a dynamic, highly collaborative and collegiate team, you will contribute to developing new business and will serve as lead broker on the placement of complex warranty and indemnity (W&I) insurance solutions. These rank among the most novel and high profile in the M&A market. Following a period of practical learning, with the support of other colleagues, you will lead on the structuring of W&I insurance solutions in a timely, technically proficient, accurate and compliant manner as well as collaborating with colleagues on other transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Have a genuine interest in fostering and maintaining long term relationships with key client decision makers, internal stakeholders and other sources of business, including lawyers, financial advisors and other professional advisors.
  • Actively develop additional business from existing team and group clients, and business opportunities from new clients.
  • Maintain an awareness of trends in the economy, in mergers and acquisitions and matters affecting W&I insurance, including large and complex claims.
  • Have a commitment to technical excellence, constant learning/improvement and a focus on detail.

Qualifications: Qualified corporate or restructuring Lawyer from a reputable UK or US law firm.

Required Skills: Candidates must have significant experience advising on M&A transactions, including good familiarity with, and experience negotiating, purchase agreements. A mix of corporate and private equity experience will be helpful in understanding the needs and motivations of their clients in procuring W&I.

Preferred Experience: Candidates with US inbound, bulge bracket deal exposure are of particular interest. No insurance experience is required.
