We are delighted to be recruiting an Accounts Payable Assistant on a fixed term contract basis, on behalf of a well‑regarded client who is committed to investing in graduate talent and developing the next generation of finance professionals.
This is an excellent first step for a finance graduate who wants to build solid technical foundations, gain practical transactional experience and progress within a structured and supportive environment.
The Role
Joining an established finance team, you will play an important part in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collecting monthly account statements from stock suppliers and chasing any missing documentation
- Matching invoices and credit notes against supplier statements to ensure accuracy
- Raising query sheets for any invoices that are disputed or incorrect
- Reconciling supplier statements with internal records and preparing payment runs
- Supporting the Finance Manager with cash postings and general administration
- Handling incoming supplier calls and directing queries to the right teams
About You
You will hold a degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline and be ready to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting. You will also be:
- Highly organised with a strong eye for detail
- A confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Proactive, eager to learn and keen to develop
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a close‑knit team
- Solid in your understanding of core accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
