Assistant Accountant | Suffolk | Hybrid | 6 month FTC
SRM Recruitment is partnering with an established organisation in Suffolk to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 6/7 month fixed-term contract, salary is up to Β£35kpa (depending on experience) this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing accounting experience in a broad role with exposure across management accounting, project accounting, fixed assets and financial reporting.
Working as part of a project finance team, you will support the accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial information.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation and reporting of project financial information
- Preparing journals and account reconciliations
- Assisting with variance investigation and financial analysis
- Maintaining accurate project ledger information and budget data
- Supporting fixed asset accounting, including asset additions and depreciation
- Processing and reviewing accounting entries and invoices
- Supporting intercompany accounting and cross-charging
- Assisting with audit queries and providing supporting financial information
- Working closely with the Management Accountant and other teams across the business
- Supporting ongoing improvements to finance processes
About you
You will ideally be Part qualified ACCA or CIMA, with previous practical experience gained within a finance team. Qualified By Experience candidates will also be considered.
You'll be comfortable with journals and reconciliations, have good Excel skills and be keen to continue developing your management accounting experience.
Previous exposure to fixed assets, project accounting, capex etc would be advantageous but isn't essential.
