Management Accountant
Borehamwood

Exciting opportunity for a newly qualified accountant or finalist ( ACCA/CIMA) to join a growing business in Borehamwood.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, duties will include:
- Top to bottom responsibility for the timely and accurate production of the management / financial accounts for the ground rent, insurance, and renewable companies.
- Responsibility for the integrity and proactive management of Group Company Balance sheets.
Tasks include:
- fixed asset schedules and depreciation
- accruals
- prepayments
- loan accruals
- bank reconciliations
- purchase ledger
- all journal entries
- Responsibility for monthly insurer and producer settlements for both insurance companies.
- Responsibility for the monthly reconciliation and distribution of cash collected for the loan notes.
- Responsibility for inter-company loans; interest accruals & payment and liaising with parent company as and when required.
- Assist in the preparation and production of the year-end tax packs and statutory accounts.
- Responsible for identifying and reporting directly to management and relevant business managers the issues identified from the monthly management accounts which need further analysis, corrective action or could result in variances to the company’s annual targets.
- Ensure accounting policies and controls are continuously reviewed, maintained and policed.
- Ensure compliance with UK tax/VAT/IPT in line with company and Group strategies.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budgets.
- Proactive development of financial and non-financial systems to support the Groups strategic objectives and also the continuous improvement of company processes e.g. production of a reporting suite from Sage 200.
- Performance of other financial and administrative ad hoc tasks as required.
- To produce and report on departmental statistics for month end and for any other management purpose.
- Continuous improvement of Finance processes including increased systemisation.
- Supporting the financial controller in all aspects, ultimately deputising for them when required.
Experience Required:
- New qualified or part qualified accountant, preferably CIMA / ACA / ACCA.
- Extensive experience of IT systems & Excel.
- Experience of cash and budget management.
- Ideally, prepared the year-end financial statements
- People management experience.
- Experience of working with all levels of personnel across different functions.
- Ability to stand his/her ground.
- Drive and energy to exceed goals.
- Must have a can-do attitude and prepared to roll their sleeves up.
