SRM Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a leading late stage biotech organisation who are looking to scale and strengthen the Finance function with the addition of a Finance Manager to join them on an initial 6 month contract basis.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust financial controls and effective financial planning.
This is a hands-on role offering the opportunity to support business growth, systems transformation and the continued development of a scalable finance function.
Key Responsibilities Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including management accounts, variance analysis, group reporting and month-end close.
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and commercial financial analysis to aid business decision-making.
Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, VAT returns, payment approvals and audit readiness, ensuring strong governance and financial controls.
Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting, supporting ERP optimisation and partnering with operational teams to enhance efficiency.
Skills Experience Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.
Experience working within a multi-entity, multi-currency environment using ERP systems (Net Suite experience advantageous).
Strong analytical, organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to improve processes and manage competing priorities.
Comfortable working within a fast-paced, evolving organisation, taking a hands-on approach while supporting strategic business objectives.
Qualifications Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) is essential.
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline is desirable.
Desirable Experience Experience within a growing SME or scale up environment.
Exposure to finance transformation projects, ERP implementations and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Experience within life sciences, pharmaceuticals or another regulated industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
