Assistant Financial Accountant
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk (hybrid working available)
Our client, a well-established group of companies, is seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant to play a key role in the group's month-end process. This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified or AAT qualified accountant to build strong group accounting and consolidation experience.
The Role
You'll be at the heart of month-end, with responsibility for:
- Posting month-end journals: consolidation adjustments, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets and ad-hoc entries
- Reconciling intercompany balances across the group and resolving differences
- Preparing the monthly consolidation file and summary financial information
- Preparing monthly management accounts and board packs
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining fixed asset registers
You'll also support year-end statutory accounts (FRS 102), the external audit and tax compliance.
About You
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA (or equivalent)
- A solid understanding of financial accounting
- Organised, highly numerate and deadline-driven
- Strong Excel skills
Group month-end experience is an advantage but not essential.
