THE ROLE

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Manager to join our busy Accounts Team. The ideal candidate will be ICAEW qualified, with at least 4 years PQE.

The purpose of this role is to manage and provide accounting advice and compliance services to SRLVโ€™s clients in order to achieve budget and maintain a high level of client satisfaction. To provide support to other team members and to partners, in addition to the line management and career development of team members.

We are looking for an excellent communicator to deal with both internal and external clients. You will be approachable and enjoy working collaboratively โ€“ part of this role is to develop good working relationships with other departments (such as tax and audit) and to help enhance the profile of the accounts team within the firm and outside.

KEY MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with managing the expectations of partners and other key staff across the practice to ensure work and projects are completed within reasonable and realistic timeframes
  • Delegates suitably ensuring clear instructions are given and objectives and deadlines set for the accounts team
  • Ensure good relationships with both internal and external clients
  • Correspond with clients, both on-site where applicable and via telephone / email to resolve any queries or issues
  • Highlight any work or project delivery issues to partners and key staff
  • Liaises with managers, partners and key staff on client problems and support team members with simple client issues
  • Interact with other departments to assist in ensuring seamless delivery of work
  • Ensure own compliance with all practice management activities
  • Develop and maintain a good level of technical knowledge through appropriate reading and courses, and to fulfil the professional bodiesโ€™ CPD requirements where appropriate

SPECIFIC ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completing the review and finalisation of yearend accounts for both complex and high profile clients
  • Providing guidance to senior members of the team and be available to answer queries
  • Review the work of both senior and junior members of the team to aid their progression
  • General administration as per the requirements of the portfolio
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as required

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 4 years PQE relevant experience in an accountancy practice
  • Strong experience in preparation and review of statutory accounts prepared in accordance with FRS102 1A.
  • Exceptional, effective and appropriate communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Strong ability to cope in a fast paced environment taking responsibility for own workload and working closely with the wider team / firm to deliver quality work to agreed, often tight, deadlines and timescales
  • Solid team player
  • Able to take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of othersโ€™ work, with a clear understanding of what and when to flag issues or gather further information on queries from relevant colleagues

  • 9.30am-5.30pm, Monday to Friday
