The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Assistant Manager or Manager looking to progress to join our busy Corporate Tax team. The ideal candidate will be CTA qualified with at least three years of Corporate Tax experience. A CTA qualification is desirable.
As Manager, you will apply your technical competency and excellent communication skills to provide tax support and advice to a range of clients, Partners and colleagues, while ensuring the smooth running of compliance procedures and ad-hoc advisory work. You will work closely with junior team members based overseas and help develop your more junior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax compliance, review tax returns and computations and monthly tasks prepared by junior staff, including providing feedback to aid their development.
- Ensure the compliance cycle runs smoothly and address any issues with relevant staff.
- Provide support to junior staff based overseas.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal Partners, staff and external clients.
- Assist with managing expectations of partners and other key staff to ensure work and projects are completed within realistic timeframes.
- Provide tax advice and technical support to a wide range of clients, partners and colleagues on various issues.
- Deal with HMRC enquiries.
- Ensure own compliance with all practice management activities.
- Develop and maintain technical knowledge through reading and courses and fulfil CPD requirements where appropriate.
- Carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of the job.
Who You Are
- Strong experience of corporate tax compliance and consultancy.
- Ability to work autonomously on client and general tasks and promote a professional, collaborative working practice.
- Confident, professional and clear in dealings with partners, staff and clients; responsive to others’ needs.
- Excellent work ethic and a client-focused mindset with an understanding of internal and external client needs.
- Initiative to progress matters and contribute in discussions, articulating technical issues clearly.
- Team player with the ability to work independently when required and to develop junior colleagues.
- Commitment and flexibility, offering support to colleagues while taking ownership of tasks.
- Ability to network and expand internal and external contacts through appropriate channels.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for managing relationships at a high standard, including first-line issues.
