Assistant Manager – Accounts Team

Role and Responsibilities
- Managing all aspects of accounts preparation, including review of accounts files and financial statement disclosures and supervising offshore and in‑house staff.
- Providing advice, guidance and constructive feedback to junior team members and updating senior managers / directors on progress.
- Delegating tasks with clear instructions, monitoring workload and ensuring deadlines and targets are met.
- Overseeing workflow scheduling for each job.
- Managing client issues, supporting team members with basic client matters.
- Undertaking accounts preparation when necessary.
- Assisting with management reporting and other specific reporting.
- Highlighting and managing work or project delivery issues to senior managers / directors and key staff.
- Managing WIP and providing regular updates on expected issues / overruns.
- Liaising with tax department to provide information for tax computations and other tax reports.
- Liaising with other departments for seamless delivery of work and projects.
- Applying solid technical knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102 1a and FRS 105).
- Developing and maintaining technical knowledge and CPD.
- Working efficiently on multiple jobs under time and budget constraints.
- Highlighting delivery issues and suggesting remediation approaches.
- Managing expectations of senior managers / directors and key staff to ensure completion within realistic timeframes.
- Corresponding with clients to resolve queries, ensuring good relationships.
- Carrying out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job.

Qualifications & Experience
- ACA/ACCA qualified.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in accountancy.
- Experience with software packages including CaseWare Accounts, QuickBooks, XERO and SAGE.
