The Interim SHEQ Consultant will support, lead and stabilise the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) function across our temporary traffic signal manufacturing facility and a 25-depot operational network across the UK & Ireland. The role will ensure full legal compliance, strengthen safety culture, standardise processes across depots, and prepare the business for audit readiness and future certification where applicable. This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong leadership presence across manufacturing, engineering, logistics and field-based traffic management operations. The ideal candidate will be based between Leeds and Solihull to ensure effective coverage of our operational network, and comfortable with frequent travel to our depot locations, including sites in Ireland, as well as regular meetings at our Winsford office.

You will:
- Have preferred experience within a Temporary Traffic Lights environment
- Be NRSWA Supervisor qualified
- Have strong Chapter 8 knowledge
- Be confident in basic electrical fault-finding
- Be a CSCS card holder
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
- Possess strong leadership presence with the ability to remote manage
- Be pragmatic and commercially aware
- Be capable to influence depot managers and senior leadership
- Have high organisation skills and a structured, thought-out approach
- Be comfortable travelling extensively across UK & Ireland
Responsibilities include:
- Lead compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, CDM Regulations, PUWER, LOLER and associated UK & Irish legislation
- Conduct risk assessments and review RAMS
- Investigate incidents, near misses and RIDDOR reportable events
- Deliver SHEQ briefings and toolbox talks
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation including waste electrical components, battery handling and disposal
- Maintain and improve Quality Management Systems aligned with ISO 9001
- Prepare the business for external audits (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001)
- Conduct compliance audits across all 25 depots
- Review the structured depot audit programme
- Conduct SHEQ training needs analysis
- Maintain legal registers and compliance trackers
- Present SHEQ performance to the senior leadership team
Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable)
- ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor
- Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH desirable)
- Environmental qualification (IEMA desirable)
- Be based in commutable distance to Winsford.
