We are a Hindu Temple registered as a Charity by the Charity Commission. We have been open since 2004 and have a strong devotee base attending the Temple on a regular basis. We are looking to employ 2 Religious Workers (non pastoral role) to support our existing team of senior priests and the management.

Annual salary: £26,436.80 for 40 hours of work per week (5-6 days per week). We comply with the National Minimum Wage regulations and provide holiday pay and other benefits entitled under UK law.

Responsibilities:
  • Setup Abishekham, Homum and Pooja / preparation for daily and special ceremonies
  • Alangaram and decoration to all deities
  • Madapalli work (preparation of sacred food)
  • Assist temple priests with religious ceremonies, festivals and daily activities
  • Garland making
  • Other associated duties as directed
Prerequisites:
  • Ability to chant mantras to bless sacred food
  • Minimum 3 years experience working at a Hindu Temple
  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to converse in Tamil
  • Must be a practising Hindu and must speak Tamil
