Summary / purpose of the position
To provide strategic legal advice and hands-on support in connection with the construction activities of the manufacturing site known as Project NDP Module 2 (NDP2), as well as for all matters related to local fit‑out activities and UK Technical Operations. This role enables project delivery, managing legal risk, and supporting operational excellence in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment.
Main responsibilities / job expectations
- Legal Support & Advisory
- Provide strategic legal expertise, advice and support on NDP 2, and UK Technical Operations activities.
- Advise across the full contract lifecycle, interpreting key contractual provisions in line with business objectives, operational requirements and considerations, as well as applicable legal or regulatory constraints.
- Clearly communicate legal risks, implications and options to internal stakeholders to support informed decision-making and execution.
- Drafting & Negotiation
- Draft, review, manage, negotiate and manage a broad range of commercial and construction related agreements (including but not limited to JCT and NEC 3/4 contracts) allocating risk, responsibility and reward for proper performance.
- Support agreements relating to internal manufacturing activities, supply of critical raw materials and consumables, design engineering, procurement and construction activities, purchase of equipment, maintenance, as well as other related services.
- Project & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work in close collaboration and ensure effective interfaces with local functions including Insurance and Risk Management, Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Intellectual Property, Service Providers/ Contractors, Ethics and Compliance and/or external lawyers.
- Actively participate upstream (ie. member of project teams, leadership teams), contributing to the design of commercial, operational and cooperation strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Proactively identify, assess and manage key legal issues and risks throughout project and operational activities.
- Support compliance of contractual relationships with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards and internal corporate codes and policies.
- Promote legal awareness and a strong compliance culture through day-to-day interactions with stakeholders and tailored training sessions.
- Legal Process & Knowledge Management
- Draft, review, improve, manage and maintain standards templates agreements and provide appropriate guidance or internal training to internal stakeholders to enhance efficiency, scalability and consistency of legal support.
Knowledge, abilities & experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years post qualification experience, including relevant UK experience in construction and technical operations gained in-house and/or in private practice.
- Proven experience drafting, analysis and negotiating JCT, NEC 3/4 contracts and complex commercial agreements.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
