Utilities Engineer

Job Title: Engineering Technician Core

Department: Utilities and Services

Mandatory requirements: Maintenance expereucne with utilities, like steam, boilers, WFI, HVAC. Not just manufacturing maintenance engineers, that have worked on production equipment.

A. Job Summary

The Engineering Technician Core role supports both planned and unplanned maintenance activities across the site. After completing training, the technician works with some independence, ensuring equipment runs smoothly, safely, and in compliance with standards.

B. Main Responsibilities

1. Maintenance Support (30%)

• Plan and perform routine maintenance
• Complete documentation accurately and on time
• Follow HSE and operating procedures

1. Compliance & Communication (20%)

• Follow cGMP standards and safety rules
• Maintain clean, safe work areas
• Communicate effectively with colleagues

1. Training & Safety (20%)

• Attend required training
• Keep training records updated
• Report and correct near misses/incidents

1. Process Improvement (20%)

• Support continuous improvement efforts
• Use and train others on Maximo (maintenance system)

1. Technical Skills (10%)

• Carry out PPM tasks
• Solve recurring problems
• Provide basic coaching to others

C. Role Scope

• Responsible for maintenance tasks and supporting Utilities & Services equipment.

D. Problem Solving

• Identify and fix basic technical problems
• Escalate issues if needed

• Help improve equipment and processes in Utilities & Services

H. Required Skills

• Mechanical engineering knowledge
• BOAS certification preferred
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience using maintenance systems like Maximo

I. Education

• Engineering Apprenticeship
• Preferably HNC or HND
• Good literacy and numeracy
• Local language proficiency

J. Experience

• Hands-on experience in an engineering or maintenance environment
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems independently
