R&D Technician required on a permanent basis, based in Greater Manchester. Requiring proven industrial experience of developing polymer based products, specifically thermoplastics.

SRG are working with a well-established manufacturer of speciality chemical products for the polymer industry who have been consistently growing for a number of years. They are now seeking to hire an R&D Technician at their site based in Greater Manchester. This role will be a laboratory based and hands-on role that will include developing both new and existing polymer-based products. A range of experience will be considered and so will prove an excellent opportunity for candidates with proven industrial experience of developing polymer based products, specifically thermoplastics.

Role / Description

  • Supporting in the development of both new and existing products.
  • Potentially liaising directly with customers & clients to provide technical support.
  • Conduct application & stability testing of new and existing products using a range of techniques.
  • Remain up to date with current developments in the market.
  • General maintenance of laboratory areas and equipment.

Requirements

  • A degree or similar qualification in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Proven industrial experience of developing industrial chemical products (ideally polymer-based).
  • Recent Chemistry graduates with an industrial placement year are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken.
  • Well organised with good time management skills.
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and self-motivated.
