Role: Electrical Maintenance Technician – Shift
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Type: Permanent
Shift: 4 on/ 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)
Hours: 06:30 – 18:30 / 18:30 – 06:30
SRG are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician for a successful and growing client based in Horsham, West Sussex.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving plant performance, ensuring operational efficiency and high engineering standards within a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns and reactive maintenance
- Diagnose and repair faults across electrical systems, including:
- Sensors, relays, and contactors
- AC/DC motors
- Control panels and MCCs
- PLC systems (Siemens S7 experience preferred)
- Support plant availability, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform electrical fault finding and interpret technical drawings
- Work with controls and instrumentation, including temperature, pressure, and flow systems
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, compliance, and housekeeping
- Ensure all incidents, accidents, and near misses are reported promptly
- Contribute to engineering improvements and project work
Criteria:
- Qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (HNC or equivalent)
- Strong experience in industrial, manufacturing, or automated environments
- Competent in fault finding, diagnostics, and maintenance
- Ideally familiar with:
- PLC fault finding (any platform considered)
- MCC panel layouts
- Control and instrumentation systems
- 18th Edition (BS7671) is advantageous
