Our client is a global contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) specialising in biopharmaceuticals. They are looking for an experienced Proposal Writer to join their Global Proposals team on a 6-12 month fixed-term contract and take ownership of RFP and bid responses for new pharma customers.

This is a proposal and bid writing role at its core. You will turn client requirements and technical input into clear, compelling, commercially sound proposals, working with scientific experts, site leadership and Business Development. The role is fully home-based, with occasional travel to site as needed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Writing and managing proposals and RFP responses end to end, from receipt through to submission, driving the writing, review and approval cycle to tight deadlines.
  • Interpreting RFPs and client needs, and meeting technical SMEs to define project scope, budget and timelines.
  • Pulling together pricing and forecast data to support proposal generation.
  • Using templates and writing standards to ensure every bid is consistent, readable and high quality.
  • Partnering with Business Development to support pre-sales conversations, and acting as the link between the site and prospective customers, including supporting client visits.
  • Spotting trends in the pipeline and helping identify strategic opportunities.
  • Maintaining the proposal database, legal files and Business Development Master Index.

About you:

  • Previous CDMO experience (essential).
  • Full-cycle proposal writing experience (essential), from RFP review and scoping through to pricing, drafting, review and submission.
  • Degree in Chemistry or a related science (an advanced degree in Business is desirable).
  • Ideally 5+ years in pharma; ADC experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with a strong eye for detail and flow.
  • Confident with Microsoft Office, including MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Organised and self-directed, able to prioritise and deliver to deadlines while working remotely.
  • A natural relationship builder, comfortable with colleagues and customers alike.

Please note: This is a home-based role. Occasional site visits may be required, which may involve time in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or laboratory environment, with PPE provided where required.

Why apply?

Flexible home-based working, a specialist and growing biologics business, and real influence over how new business is won, with the chance to make an immediate impact.
