SRG are working with a leading privately owned large waste management company who are now looking for a site chemist to join the team. This is a hands-on role within the waste industry, you will be analysing, checking and testing incoming loads, processing hazardous and non-hazardous waste, insuring segregation and storage of hazardous waste meets requirements, labelling waste and completing documents on all incoming and outgoing chemical materials. Recent Chemistry graduates will be considered and are encouraged to apply, this role would suit candidates with prior industrial experience within the waste industry.
Working Hours: 40hour week – Monday to Friday, flexible start and finish times, 25 days holiday + bank holidays
Role / Description
- Provide technical support to the operations team
- Analysing and testing all incoming waste
- Ensure all waste is correctly labelled and documented
- Contribute to site health and safety standards by using the correct PPE at all times
- Work closely with site operatives to ensure the safe and efficient processing, storage, and transfer of waste
- Day to day lab testing on waste materials using ICP and XRF
Requirements
- Minimum HNC in Chemistry
- Willing to work outside in all weathers
- Good work ethic, hands-on approach and a willingness to learn
- Full right to work in the UK – There is no sponsorship available for this role
