Job Title: Product Technologist – Cosmetics & Detergents

Location: Remote (occasional travel to Northampton)

Type: Permanent

SRG is partnering with a global FMCG product testing and certification company that provides industry-leading services across consumer product testing, certification, and consulting for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers. They are currently seeking a Product Technologist to support regulatory compliance and product launch initiatives across cosmetics, personal care, and detergent/home care products . The role focuses on global market compliance , particularly for Australia and America , and involves close collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure Critical Path deadlines are consistently met
  • Log product samples and verify they meet internal and regulatory quality standards
  • Develop and implement regulatory strategies to support successful product launches in Australia and the United States
  • Liaise with suppliers to gather technical data, regulatory documentation, and progress updates
  • Implement and manage artwork and labelling strategies; perform meticulous documentation control
  • Review and approve artwork in alignment with regulatory requirements and product specifications
  • Conduct physical reviews of packaging to verify alignment with approved artwork and check for label accuracy
  • Stay up to date with global regulatory changes and maintain market-specific compliance intelligence
  • Prepare and submit documentation including Safety Data Sheets (SDS) , dossiers , and other relevant regulatory filings
  • Support ongoing compliance and renewals of existing product registrations

Requirements:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a scientific or technical discipline
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance for cosmetics, personal care, detergents or home care products
  • Solid understanding of product formulation and development processes
  • Strong knowledge of relevant product standards and regulations such as:
  • CLP (Classification, Labelling and Packaging)
  • REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals)
  • The Detergents Regulation
  • CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission – USA)
  • Familiarity with PETA , Leaping Bunny , PIFs , artworks , and global market entry strategies is advantageous
