A unique opportunity has arisen for an Investor Ecosystem Manager to join a dynamic team dedicated to connecting private investors with high-growth, early-stage technology companies. You will gain exposure to hundreds of start-ups and technologies, as well as the capabilities of a rich and well-regarded in-house innovation acceleration team of experts, whose expertise you can provide to your investor network's portfolio.
We are looking for an experienced leader within the UK technology/innovations space who will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with private investors, with the purpose of generating commercial project leads for the organisation. You will need to have the ability to source and identify investment opportunities and qualify relevant deal flow for private investors. You will be exposed to a variety of innovative deep tech companies within the wider organisation’s network and will be expected to provide fundraising support to some of these companies. You may also be required to engage with potential customers and investors to exploit non-core business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and present the organisation’s capabilities to the private investment community.
- Deliver targeted pitches/value propositions to specific target investors to raise company profile within the private investment community and build relationships with target investors that result in referrals to the organisation’s commercial arm.
- Keep up to date in terms of investment trends and news relevant to target investors necessary to build and maintain fruitful relationships with a variety of private investors.
- Identify key relationships to be developed through analysis of private investor portfolio and assess fit with the company’s commercial offering.
- Develop and maintain sustainable collaborative partnerships with private investors to enable effective delivery against the organisation’s strategy.
- Oversee the transfer of opportunities to other areas of the business, whilst maintaining an appropriate level of involvement in the progression of opportunities following transfer.
- Exploit public funding understanding and networks to build and maintain relationships with private investors and their portfolio companies.
- Serve as a point of contact for opportunities and filter for potential investor relationships referred to the organisation by other teams or committees within the Group.
About You:
- Degree or Master/PhD (or equivalent) in a Scientific/Engineering or Business-related discipline.
- Recent proven track record of working within a multidisciplinary environment dealing with multiple technologies, capabilities and applications in diverse set of markets.
- Relevant industry experience in a business development or account management role within a technology/IP-based business environment.
- Relevant knowledge/experience of the innovation ecosystem and investors in early stage companies.
