Main purpose of the job
Organisation and preparation of CPD facilities for all the varied programmed courses on a day-to-day basis within the unit and to provide dental nursing support in the clinical suite as appropriate
Duties and responsibilities
- Assisting the ECIS Manager and Senior Dental Nurse with the day-to-day running of all facilities within the unit.
- Maintenance of all Clinical Skills Rooms for courses running on a day-to-day basis.
- Maintenance of equipment in the clinical skills rooms and clinical suite.
- Ensuring course specific stock levels including equipment and materials are maintained.
- Setting up all equipment and materials in the Clinical Skills Rooms and clinical suite.
- Regular updating of all inventories.
- Providing support for IT set up and troubleshooting.
- Liaising with Course leaders and administrators for requirements.
- Providing chairside assistance for all clinically led courses including surgical and implant procedures.
- Assist the examination coordinator with the preparation, organisation and running of the relevant General Dental Council (GDC) Examinations.
- Flexibility to be available for work approximately 3-6 Saturdays per year.
- Flexibility to be available for work out of the core hours (occasional).
- Maintaining an up to date record of CPD.
- Any other appropriate duties as designated by the ECIS manager and Senior Dental Nurse or their representatives.
- Working within the CQC framework, and all current clinical governance.
This appointment is subject to:
- Full registration with the General Dental Council as a Dental Nurse.
- Pre-employment health screening assessment.
- Disclosure and Barring Service assessment.
- Eligible for Honorary Appointment with NHS.
