We are seeking an experienced Instrument/Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a leading chemical company at their Clitheroe site. This role forms part of an established multi‑discipline Maintenance Team supporting several key production plants. You will help maintain safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation through both reactive maintenance and scheduled preventative maintenance activities. The site is a large, diverse industrial environment with substantial annual investment, offering a broad range of technical challenges and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to plant breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving instrumentation or electrical faults.
  • Record all maintenance activities within the CMMS, ensuring accurate, detailed, and timely updates.
  • Support the Maintenance Team Leader in delivering an effective and compliant maintenance function.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including safety‑critical instrumentation testing.
  • Contribute to reliability improvement activities, including FMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Support site performance targets related to EHS, Quality, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Requirements

  • Completed a recognised Instrumentation/Electrical maintenance apprenticeship with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of health and safety practices within chemical or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with permit‑to‑work systems and Lock‑Out Tag‑Out (LOTO) procedures.
  • Experience working on process plants—ideally chemical, oil & gas, or heavy manufacturing.
  • Competent user of CMMS systems such as SAP PM.
