The MSAT (Manufacturing Science & Technology) team plays a key role in bridging development and manufacturing, ensuring processes are robust, transferable, and suitable for commercial production of complex biologics.

The environment is highly collaborative, offering strong technical ownership and exposure to multidisciplinary project teams. The Role of the Principal Scientist
- MSATIn this role, you will act as a technical lead on complex programmes, supporting the transfer and scale‐up of bioprocesses into GMP manufacture.

You'll combine strong scientific expertise with project delivery, ensuring processes are implemented effectively and meet quality and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading process transfer and scale‐up activities into GMP manufacturing environments, being the SME within biologicsPreparing and reviewing technical documentation, including process descriptions, change controls, and risk assessmentsPlanning and overseeing experimental and pilot‐scale studies, with responsibility for data interpretation and reportingEnsuring processes are robust, scalable, and suitable for manufacturing operationsWorking cross‐functionally with operations, quality, engineering, and supply chain teamsSupporting investigations, including deviations, root cause analysis, and impact assessmentsThe Ideal Candidate for the Principal/Senior Scientist
- MSAT RoleTo succeed in this role, you will need: A degree (or higher) in a scientific or engineering discipline, with strong, recent industry experienceProven, recent expertise in bioprocessing, including upstream and/or downstream operationsRecent exposure to process transfer, MSAT, or manufacturing support environmentsRecent experience within biologics or advanced therapeutic developmentExperience working within a GMP environment, ideally supporting manufacturing or scale‐up activitiesDemonstrated ability to lead or contribute to complex technical projectsStrong problem‐solving skills and data interpretation capabilityExcellent communication skills and experience working across multidisciplinary teamsPrevious mentoring or informal leadership experienceWhy This Role?
