We are seeking energetic and reliable HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Class 1 & 2 Drivers with ADR, to join our client's dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for the completion of collection and delivery operations throughout the UK, handling a diverse mix of general haulage and time-critical airline freight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class 1 or 2 rigid vehicle to collect and deliver palletised goods, general haulage, and airport cargo across the UK.
  • Transport time-sensitive cargo to and from major UK airport cargo hubs, strictly adhering to airport security, booking-in procedures, and landside/airside regulations.
  • Maintain strict compliance with EU Drivers' Hours, Tachograph regulations, and the Working Time Directive.
  • Conduct mandatory pre- and post-trip vehicle safety checks (oil, tyres, brakes), reporting any defects immediately to the transport manager.
  • Ensure all cargo is safely loaded, strapped, and secured using appropriate restraints before transit.
  • Accurate completion of all delivery paperwork, including standard delivery notes, electronic proof of delivery (EPOD) systems, and CMRs/airport documentation where required.
  • Plan efficient routes using GPS and traffic updates.
  • Must be willing to undertake occasional overnight stays (tramping) as required by nationwide routes.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with curtainside and rigid tail lift vehicles or similar cargo handling experience.
  • Full UK driving licence with HGV Class 1 or Class 2 plus CPC and Digi Tacho.
  • Knowledge of UK road networks, routes, and traffic regulations.
  • Experience in driving for delivery services or logistics companies is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with vehicle safety checks, load securing techniques, and basic vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • ADR Required.
  • A clean 5-year checkable work history to satisfy airport security background vetting.
  • Good geographic knowledge of the UK motorway network and major airport cargo terminals is desirable.
