Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to join an Online company with a focus on sports and casino, in a key compliance-focused role. The MLRO will oversee the organisation’s anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) framework and act as the focal point for financial crime compliance, providing independent oversight, challenge and guidance. You will hold a current PML issued by theUKGambling Commission.The role is working fully remote and requires a candidate who is willing to operate as a self-employed individual. The role requires an immediate start.What’s on offer to you?Salary at marker rate to be discussed in line with experience.The opportunity to provide independent oversight of the organisation.Working closely alongside senior management and Board to escalate concerns.What You Will Be DoingAct as the organisation’s MLRO and, where applicable, Nominated Officer for suspicious activity reporting.Oversee compliance with applicable AML, CTF, sanctions and financial crime legislation, regulations and regulatory guidance.Maintain and regularly review the firm-wide AML/CTF risk assessment and ensure risks are appropriately identified, assessed, documented and mitigated.Develop, maintain and oversee AML/CTF policies, procedures, controls and monitoring programmes.Review internal suspicious activity reports and determine whether external Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or equivalent regulatory reports are required.Maintain appropriate records of internal disclosures, investigations, decisions and regulatory reporting.Challenge business decisions where financial crime risks are not controlled.Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organisation.Report material AML/CTF issues, trends, breaches and risks to senior management and the Board.Prepare periodic and, where required, annual MLRO reports covering the effectiveness of the AML/CTF framework and significant issues identified.Liaise with regulators, law enforcement, financial intelligence units and other competent authorities where required.Support regulatory inspections, audits and information requests relating to AML/CTF and financial crime.Ensure appropriate escalation of material financial crime risks, control weaknesses and suspected breaches.Maintain appropriate independence, authority, access to information and resources to perform the MLRO function effectively.What You Will Need to Succeed in This RoleHold a current PML with the UK Gambling Commission.Relevant professional qualification in AML, Compliance, Financial Crime, Risk, Law, Finance or a related discipline is desirable.Desirable – AML/financial crime certification such as ICA, ACAMS or equivalent.Evidence of up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.Proven experience in an MLRO role within Online Gaming desirable.Strong working knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, regulatory requirements and financial crime risks.Experience in assessing customer and business risk.Strong understanding of CDD, EDD, transaction monitoring and sanctions.Strong analytical, investigative and decision-making skills.Excellent communication skills, confidant to challenge senior stakeholders.High level of integrity, discretion and professional judgement.Ability to work independently while collaborating with senior managementMoney Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) | Compliance | Financial Crime | SARS | PEP | Regulatory Reports | Suspicious ActivityJob InformationJob Reference:Salary:Salary From:0Salary To:0Job Industries:Finance & LegalJob Locations:London, United KingdomJob Types:PermanentApply for this JobName*Please enter your full name.Email*Enter a valid email address.Cover Letter*Add your cover letter for supporting information here.Upload a CV*Upload your CV to accompany your application for this job.Please tick this box to consent to us using your data.
