MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: The Compliance Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s professional accreditations, ensuring ongoing compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory obligations. The role also oversees project Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and leads company-wide document control, revision, and governance processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness at all times.

MAIN TASKS OF THE JOB:
Key Responsibilities
Professional Accreditations & External Compliance
- Manage all company accreditations and certifications, including (but not limited to) Constructionline, Achilles, RISQS, CHAS, SMAS, and other relevant schemes.
- Act as the primary point of contact for accreditation bodies, auditors, and assessors.
- Coordinate initial applications, renewals, submissions, audits, and corrective actions.
- Ensure all policies, procedures, and evidence required for accreditations are current, compliant, and readily available.
- Track accreditation expiry dates and proactively manage renewal timelines.
- Monitor changes to accreditation requirements and assess business impact.
- Prevent the use of obsolete documents across the business.
- Support with document control and retention of documentation.
Project Compliance & ITP Management
- Develop, review, and maintain project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) in line with contractual, client, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure ITPs are aligned with company procedures and quality management systems.
- Support project teams in implementing and adhering to approved ITPs.
- Review completed ITP records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
- Support internal and external audits related to project compliance.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Proven experience in a compliance, quality, or governance role (construction, engineering, utilities, infrastructure, or similar regulated environment preferred).
- Hands-on experience managing professional accreditations such as Constructionline, Achilles, RISQS, CHAS, SMAS, or equivalent schemes.
- Strong understanding of document control, revision management, and audit processes.
- Experience working with project documentation, including ITPs or similar quality plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
Desirable:
- Experience with ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Experience supporting internal and external audits.
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems (EDMS).
- Background in construction, rail, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
