Service Designer – Contract | AI Discovery Project | Outside IR35 SR2 are partnering with a consultancy on a high-profile government project, exploring the application of agentic AI to create more personalised digital public services. This is an early-phase discovery and proof-of-concept project, so we’re looking for a Service Designer with strong experience in shaping services at inception stage — ideally with exposure to AI-driven tools and government environments. Key Details Start: Early October 2025 Contract: Until 31st March 2026 (initial) Rate: Up to £500/day (Outside IR35) Location: Hybrid – remote with some central London travel Clearance: SC clearable required (active SC desirable)Responsibilities Lead service design through discovery and proof-of-concept phases. Design end-to-end services that integrate with emerging AI capabilities. Work closely with researchers, content designers, and technical specialists to shape strategy and delivery approaches. Help a multi-disciplinary team explore how AI can be used responsibly and effectively in a government service context.Experience Required Strong track record as a Service Designer on discovery and proof-of-concept projects.
