Overview
SC Cleared Network Engineer | Cisco | Palo Alto | NSX-T | Defence | Contract. SR2 is supporting a consultancy partner on a multi-year project and we\’re looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join the dedicated product team building and supporting a highly secure, state-of-the-art digital platform. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining secure on-prem network infrastructure, collaborating with security, platform, and architecture teams to deliver solutions in a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimise secure on-premises network infrastructure
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco switches/routers, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortigate firewalls, and NSX-T
- Build and maintain both physical and virtualised network environments
- Support high availability, scalability, and performance across the network estate
- Prepare and deliver detailed technical design documentation and knowledge management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new solutions and meet evolving business needs
- Ensure compliance with governance, change control, and security accreditation processes
Skills & Experience Required
- 3+ years\’ experience as a Network Engineer in secure or regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of switching, routing, firewalls, VLANs, VNets, BGP, and software-defined networking
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, NSX-T, and Fortigate technologies
- Proven troubleshooting skills and ability to deliver pragmatic solutions in complex environments
- Familiarity with scripting for automation (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python, Perl)
- Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Professional certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCDP) highly desirable
